Presbyopie with laser
Almost everyone gets at a certain moment a point where the farsightedness gets worse. This phenomena starts around the age of 40 and is commonly known as presbyopia. At a certain time, it's necessary to use reading glasses. This has been so for years, but since now, there's a solution for it with our laser: the CustomVue™ Presbyopia- treatment at Laser-Company. Laser-Company is the first and for the time being, the only eye clinic in Europe that can perform this treatment.

Who is eligible?
For people with reading glasses in combination with farsightedness (+- vision). Many people who are older than forty, have a mild form of farsightedness and come therefore in consideration for treatment. People with short-sightedness (-vision) do not come in consideration for treatment. They will still have to use a reading glass after a laser vision correction. During a preliminary survey will be checked if you are suited for treatment.

How does it work?
The presbyopia  is used as a addition to a LASIK, LASEK or EpiLasik - treatment. With the use of the VISX Star S4 IR laser the cornea is modified in such a way that in the centre of the cornea a bulge is created. The part around it will be lasered away. In this way, both the reading as the vision part will be corrected.

How long will the treatment hold?
After the treatment it will be possible to read without reading glasses for around 10 to 12 years. If needed, the treatment can be repeated.
